Are a vigorous climbing plant
That can be grown on a trellis, fence or pergola
They usually grow about 2 meters tall
They develop fruit 10-12 weeks after flowering
Vines can hide a fence
Vines can be grown on a garden shed
They can be used in cakes and icecreams
They can be used in cool summer drinks
Vines can live from 3 to 7 years
They produce fruit on new growth
Pruned or unpruned plants usually do very well
Fruit can be yellow or purple
Passionfruit are self fertile and bee pollinated
Yield is 15kg per plant
They can be grown in large containers

How to Grow

They like a sunny spot
They can be easily grown from seed
When seedlings are 20-35cm(8-14in) tall transplant them
Keep plants mulched and well watered
Use a general purpose fertiliser
Old wood is removed by pruning

















Harvesting

Late summer and Autumn
Pick fruit that is fully colored and slightly shriveled
The fruits do not store that well
