Lemons (Citrus limon)

Proverbs 8:20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

Are a small evergreen tree
Which has dark, glossy leaves
They are related to limes, oranges and grapefruit
The main varieties are Meyer, Eureka and Lisbon
The fruit can be available for most of the year
They grow in a wide range of climates
They have shallow roots
The flowers have a fragrant smell
They are nearly always self fertile
They can grow to 2 meters tall or more
They are rich in Vitamin C
Flowers and leaves are used in soaps and perfumes
They can be grown in large pots or containers

How to Grow

They prefer a fertile slightly acid soil
They need a open sunny position
They need to be protected from winds

Do not feed recently planted lemons
Use compost in the soil and mulch the plant
Fertilize trees in Spring and Autumn
They respond well to careful pruning
