Heirloom Tomatoes

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, vitamin E and potassium all essential for good health.
Heirloom tomatoes go back a long time in history and are the best tasting ones.

My favorite heirloom tomatoes:

Amish Paste - Can be eaten fresh, for bottling or sauce making it versatile and it has a great yield per plant.

Green Zebra - Green and yellow striped birds dont seem to want this variety it has a good yield and a great taste.

Tigerella - red and yellow striped tomatoes produced over a long season hugely productive it is possible to harvest 20 kilograms of one plant.

Tommy Toe - Quite possibly the greatest tasting tomato it produces fruit over an inch long and is great for salads and sandwiches.

What is Your favorite tomato?

  1. I like the Amish Paste. My mom makes good winter cans out of these tomatoes mixed with other vegetables and cooked on the stove.
