It has an aniseed taste
It grows to 2 feet high
It is grown for its leaves, roots and seeds
It has small white flowers
Leaves go with soups, salads or marinades
Leaves go with chicken or fish
Roots can be put into a salad
Chervil can be grown in containers
How to Grow
Young plants are difficult to transplant
Sow in Autumn or Spring
It does not like a full sun position
It likes to grow in partial shade
It likes light and moisture retaining soil
Sow seed direct into the ground
Germination can take as long as 3 weeks
Plants are usually placed 30cm apart
Water when the weather is dry
Harvesting
About 8-9 weeks from sowing
Pick young outer leaves
Leaves can be dried or frozen
